Role focus

Reframed DevOps as platform engineering.

I took over the DevOps team and reframed the work around platform engineering: stabilizing inherited systems, reducing operational uncertainty, and creating repeatable delivery paths.

What I walked into

There were many technology stacks and a lot of inherited operational knowledge. I had to discover how old systems worked, often when they were broken.

What I built and stabilized

I stabilized an older Kubernetes cluster, architected migration work toward EKS, onboarded ArgoCD, participated in production on-call, and developed a Cue-based configuration management system.

How I approached it

Most of the work required exploration: understanding what the team owned, how it failed, and how to make those systems more understandable for future operators.

Why it mattered

The goal was to move from reactive DevOps firefighting toward platform engineering: clearer ownership, safer delivery, and better tools for developers.
